FBUP Episode 018: Racism (Part 2)

Don Stirling, the owner of the Los Angeles Clippers, has been banned for life by the NBA, fined $2.5 million and a process has been set in motion that would force him to sell his team if three quarters of NBA owners vote in favour. Why? Because because recordings of him making racist comments (in a private phone conversation with this girlfriend) were made public. More here.

I call bullshit on this. The ‘racism’ card is so old. It is so tired. And it is what keeps blacks backward. Its time we let it go.

Hey. I have listened to both parts of this Racism Podcast an i will say, i totally agree with about everything u have said. I agree that if the service is bad at any establishment regardless of the owner, u shdnt bitch about it but just go where you think yo money will be valued. Personally i have been to Bubbles and Particularly Mish Mash and i felt service was sluggish and i noticed some preference to whites, Similar i have been to Mateos or Gabiro and ive also noticed preference given to regular Patrons. Personally, i have also gotten preferential treatment to places i usually frequent. So Yes. it is business.

However, as much as i dont give a fuck of what one may think about Me, In my Opinion, Racism and What ever prejudices one may have especially if they are derogatory in nature need not be condoned. The first time i experienced racism was totally shocking , I was refused to enter a club on grounds that i was drunk which was clearly not true. There were countless white girls and guys literally drunk falling and shouting at the entrance and were being let in . It was evident that my issue was the Skin color,… Now when i encounter such scenarios, i just laugh about it and move on. Just like Dani Alves ate that Banana that was thrown at him

In short, the tone of these podcasts seems to suggest that its ok to be racist and if u feel offended by the racist attack , then you are stupid. I think is OK for someone to be offended without necessarily being stupid.

Otherwise, it high time Africans stopped having an inferiority complex and playing the victim card. Thanks for the podcasts though, Looking forward to the next,

Well fatboy i have listened to the podcasts and i must say i find them didactic..i agree with your notions..the only way to deal with such is just to ignore and move on..if it is a black-owned regardless of the country they say mistreatment but if it is white-owned,they say racism..if that is not a DOUBLE STANDARD then i don’t know what is.

It’s so true that we all have prejudices and ironically black people all over the world actually tend to be more prejudiced than any other race of people(I know that cuz am black and have dealt with more black people than any other race), yet they whine every time they are mistreated. I also believe the Donald Sterling issue was a private matter, he just got recorded and framed. Many of us say shit in our comfort zones abt other people but no one really cares because it’s the norm and we don’t have empires that someone else is drooling over. That could be anyone of us but because he’s that affluent, everyone forgets they do the same thing and think he should not be prejudiced cuz he rich….it’s bullshit like u said. Not to condone racism or prejudice but to acknowledge the fact that as humans we all have our flaws. To be racist or prejudiced is stupid and ignorant but to be offended by racism or prejudice is idiocy or like u like to put it…letting the inferiority complex get the better outta u. I mean, U don’t like to associate with me (without reason), so what?! …and screw ur prejudiced ass….am off to somewhere i’ll be celebrated. Thanks for the always interesting podcasts James, U rock!
